May the force be with you.
And may the force be with you.
The Force is an energy field created by all living things.
It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together.
Accept and embrace the oneness of the universe
and experience infinite, limitless force.

holiest day
The most under-rated way to spend hours upon hours in a car? Just sitting.
On Sunday we spent eight hours traveling through the mountains to the plains staring out the window mostly in silence. The result? Readiness to resume normal life after a frenetically super-fun long weekend.
Take transitions at a slow and tender pace; silence and space is your friend in these times of change.
Today is the autumn equinox and Yom Kippur.

Mommies ...
While bébé is at school ...
Please resist the temptation to run-amok-errands!
Take the time to do the thing(s) you "never have time to do".
In my case this is
1. Draw
2. Yoga
DO YOU FIRST
followed by only the most essential chores promptly before pick-up.
The point is : open-ended time for your love-it-list and limited time for tedious tasks.

Transition
The inner process through which people come to terms with change.
Jet lag has put our little family in limbo these last few days. Disturbed sleep. Erratic energy. In order to dampen the effects of circadian dysrhythmia:
- Unpack and tidy up.
- Drink green juice daily!
- Abstain from caffeine.
- Eat sparingly.
- Stay close to 'home'.
- Walk instead of drive.
- Family-time if possible.
- Be kind to yourself.
- Say 'no'.
and lastly,
- Not sleeping? Savasana.
- Say 'no'.
and lastly,
- Not sleeping? Savasana.
Change is situational.
Transition is psychological.

Traveling with bébé
My husband said
"It's so much better than traveling alone!"
If you can channel this mentality you are good-to-go.
Live vicariously through your kids awe and wonder -
the airport is a thrill again!
Stay organized; less-is-more.
Stay present; fun is ubiquitous.

bleu blanc rouge
To Grandmother's House we go!
CAPSULE WARDROBE for traveling ; maman et bébé picked a color theme of red-white-and-blue (plus noir et blanc*) inspired by the upcoming holiday and mommy's classic mood for our 10-day trip to both Grandparents' in Cleveland. With a color theme I don't have to think twice about which bébé hairbows, maman hankiepankies, or both girls' bikinis to bring ... but I do have to remember to bring them!
On the road I always don a scarf and wear a watch! Happy travels!
*And, of course, a few corals and yellows, too.

Bless this Bhavan
Sound is the highest priority in Sanskrit.
The healing effect of the sequential flow of sounds in the Sanskrit language is said to not only balance the mind and the body, but even extend further to create harmony in the collective consciousness of society as a whole.
In Sanskrit the sound and the meaning are not considered as two different entities but as one and the same. The sounds of Sanskrit carry the qualities of the meaning on the very level of their vibrational frequency. This means that even without understanding the meaning, chanting or listening to Sanskrit verses could generate a very beautiful effect on the mind and on the body.
Sanskrit has been used since time immemorial for the purpose of solving and avoiding problems in life, for healing various aspects of the energy body and the physiology, and to elevate the human consciousness towards unfolding its full potential.

A house's name stays with the address for a lifetime. Our house-build has just barely begun, but I'm not sure the current "Cherry Tree" is the one. Some of the sankrit words I am toying with are above, but until the house is complete - just as waiting until a baby is born! - only then do you know what name will fit.

I do my best, and God does the rest
KUBERA MUDRA
Touch your thumb to your index and middle finger. The ring and pinky fingers fold onto your palm. Or, I like them loose.
Thumb tip: the Will
Pointer finger tip: "I am"
Middle finger tip: "I use"
The fingers of Mars' force, Jupiter's resplendence, and Saturn's passageways are joining powers. Take this Mudra as you focus on your heart's desire and make your intention clear. Imagine your dream in all its colors. You may use this Mudra in Savasana; Kubera will give you inner repose, confidence and serenity.
I also like that this Mudra is similar to a SNAP! Another great gesture for making things happen!!

what did we do all day?
The Magical Years of Childhood
... Waldorf education actively protects the first magical dream-like phases of consciousness which are natural to the child until around the age of seven. This runs contrary to the majority of programs and influences acting on the child today which try to prematurely "awaken" the child to the adult conceptions of time, space and cognitive thought.
...While it is possible to teach some four year olds to read and write, such early gains are easily matched by the child who waits until age seven, and what is lost is the imaginative, magical element of the young child. Indeed, according to Steiner, the awakening and hardening influence of cognitive work before the age of seven directly influences a child's developing organs and can result in various illnesses in later life.
...There is tremendous pressure to hasten children's entry into the adult world. But an understanding of the process of development and a trust in its unfoldment in their individual child can give parents confidence to resist hurrying their child and to enjoy him or her at each stage.

what COLOR is your day, dove?
Today is a SILVER day. Houseguests have departed and loose ends are being tied. It has been a slate and shiny afternoon of story time, spaceships and sweet-and-sour soup. All transpiring in a heather gray floral sweatsuit.

power of less
How to Start:
Simplicity Parenting
by, Kim John Payne, M. Ed., with Lisa M. Ross
Kids Toys:
1. Reduce by one-half.
2. And then by one-half again.
3. Donate.
note: Favorite, most-loved toys always stay.
note: this is done without bébé.
4. Put keepers into moveable cute baskets and bins.
5. A few books out and accessible - the rest tucked away.
6. Only age-appropriate items allowed around.
Clothing too!
6. Do it TODAY during nap.
or TONIGHT after bed.

Aries as a mother
Mama Aries
The Fourth House, Motherhood House, ruler for Aries is Cancer:
Like a crab tighlty clutching all that it cherishes, you're a tad possessive of your wee ones. Children bring out the mother hen in independent Aires, much to your surprise. If you've always been a tough chick, prepare to meet your sentimental side.
Aries mama is also known as:
